About the Foundation

Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Cincinnati Foundation, a 501c3, invests in the Cincinnati community and globally through funding of Kiwanis service and education programs and through donations to external non-profits.

These are tough economic times, and it may not be possible to give as much as we’d like. But it’s even tougher for those in need in our community, especially the children of our community. Recently it was announced that Cincinnati has the third highest rate of childhood poverty in the nation! 48% of the children in our community live in poverty. The Kiwanis Club of Cincinnati works to help alleviate poverty and hunger in the Cincinnati community, and build leadership, self-confidence, and a passion for volunteerism in today’s youth.

In nearly 40 countries around the world, the poorest women are susceptible to Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT).  Kiwanis International has partnered with UNICEF through The Eliminate Project to deliver life saving vaccines that protect the mother and her unborn children for ten years from this disease which kills 1 infant every 9 minutes in an excrutiatingly painful way. The vaccine costs just $2. Kiwanis has pledged to raise $110 million dollars and the Cincinnati Kiwanis club has pledged to raise $100,000 for the project, giving UNICEF the last push of funding to virtually eliminate this disease for which there is a cure.  Click here for more information about The Eliminate Project

Foundation News

Thanks to a generous offer from an anonymous donor, all donations up to a total of $4,000 made to the Cincinnati Kiwanis Foundation made before December 31, 2011 were matched!

Meeting the $4,000 challenge match, brought in at least $8,000 to the Cincinnati Kiwanis Foundation account – allowing us to do even more over the next year to help alleviate poverty and hunger in the Cincinnati community, and build leadership, self-confidence, and a passion for volunteerism in today’s youth!
